After ?Alford? plea, remorse a valid factor in sentencing (access required)

A criminal defendant who says he is innocent but enters an Alford plea nevertheless can benefit at sentencing by expressing concern for the victims of the crime, the Virginia Court of Appeals has ruled in a case of first impression.
