General Assembly News: Turtle bill is a non-starter; dirt bill swept underfoot

Legislators who spent hours over the past two years debating the qualities and flaws of the eastern box turtle decided last Tuesday not to make the critter the official state reptile.
And a bill to designate Pamunkey soil as the official state soil, backed by Del. Joe T. May, was voted down on Wednesday.
