Summary: The 19-year-old plaintiff was hit head-on by a driver who crossed the center line on Route 55 near Linden. Plaintiff was eight months pregnant and the fetus was killed in the collision because of a traumatic rupture of her uterus.
Her uterus was repaired but any future pregnancies will be high risk for a life-threatening uterine rupture, and delivery will have to be by cesarean section at 36 to 37 weeks before contractions begin.
The judgment has been paid.
