Virginia Lawyers Media is proud to announce the debut of a new Web site for our flagship legal newspaper, Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
The address is the same, www.valawyersweekly.com, but the look and feel are designed to make using the site even easier.
The new home page has three sections: news, opinions and community. The latest news is always available in the far left column, and quick links to full-text opinions and the day’s Top Opinion are in the center. The community section will feature the VLW Blog and a rotating series of features and articles.
As one user already told us, “it’s simple and easy to access, but once you get in there, it’s deep.”
Archives. The top draw for many users is our Archives, and that hasn’t changed; we’ve only made it better. Packed with case digests and news stories – all the material we’ve published since 1993 – the Archives is a great place to start your legal research in a case. Now, you’ll find that the Archives is powered by Google Search for fast, complete results.
Full-text PDF Opinions. Subscribers to Virginia Lawyers Weekly already know about the new Web benefit we started in February: Free full-text opinions, including Virginia Circuit Court cases. You can save the PDF copies to your hard drive or print the opinion to drop in your file.
There are new features to make your law practice easier, more efficient and more profitable.
Important Opinions Compendium. Behind the “Research” tab, you’ll find a button that will lead you to a compilation of all the Important Opinions we feature, including links to the full text of the cases.
Practice Pages. You can keep up to date with your area of practice with a quick review of the Practice Pages. These pages feature a feed from the Archives of our news stories and case digests for six areas – business law, criminal law, employment law, family law, personal injury and real property.
Quick Links. Many of the sections from the old site have been streamlined and updated to provide you with quicker access to the information you need. You can find links to the Virginia Code, the court system and state government. There is a listing of Virginia law firms, law schools and bar groups.
And this is just the beginning. In the months to come, we will continue to add more great new features to the VLW Web site.
But we’d like to hear from you. Please visit the site, then tell us what you think. Tell us what you’d like to see added. Just drop a note to email@example.com
As always, thank you for your support and the opportunity to provide these valuable services to you.
