Political anticipation may have claimed a victim in Richmond this week. We’ll confess to being a little edgy ourselves, with all the talk about the possibility that Gov. Tim Kaine might be picked as Barack Obama’s running mate and all the ramifications that decision might have on Virginia politics. We understand how folks might easily be carried away by false signals. One Richmond lawyer apparently fell victim to the Veepstakes jitters, according to a Politico blog. Anne Leigh Kerr received a text message indicating that Obama had chosen Kaine. Before she discovered that it was a hoax, she had e-mailed other “political types” to share the news. Let’s all take a deep breath and just wait. Obama will be speaking in Chester soon, and he has several other appearances in the state today.
