ALEXANDRIA—A disbarred Woodbridge attorney has pleaded guilty to a federal fraud count related to what prosecutors say was the theft of more than $3.5 million from his clients.
Stephen T. Conrad, 40, worked on personal injury and workers’ compensation cases. Court documents say until last December he forged his clients’ signatures and misappropriated funds coming from insurance companies against which claims were made.
Records show Conrad used the money to pay for his mortgage, credit card bills and travel.
He faces up to 20 years in prison, fines and restitution. Sentencing is set for Nov. 14.
