UR law professor wins Fulbright scholarship


University of Richmond law professor Joel B. Eisen will be a Fulbright Scholar at the China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing next spring.

A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology andStanford University law school, Eisen has taught at UR since 1994. He is an expert on energy and environmental law and will teach classes in energy law and the law of global warning in Beijing.

Eisen said CUPL recently has become a leading center for the study of environmental law and of public involvement in protection of the environment. “It is a focal point for studying howChina can adapt to the considerable challenges of the 21st century,” he added.

The Fulbright program provides grants for college and university faculty and administrators to lecture and conduct research in countries around the world.
