LeRoy F. Millette Jr. was formally invested today as a justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia. Gov. Timothy M. Kaine, who elevated Millette from Prince William County Circuit Court to the Virginia Court of Appeals last year and to the Supreme Court last month, was part of the festivities.
So were many legislators, who will decide at its next session whether to give Millette a 12-year term on the high court. They included most of the Prince William delegation, Republican Delegates Jackson H. Miller and Robert G. Marshall and Democratic Del. Paul F. Nichols and Sen. Charles J. Colgan among them.
Millette succeeds Judge G. Steven Agee, who was appointed to the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
