Solons vote to name waterfall for Warner

The House of Representatives has passed legislation that would name a man-made waterfall for Virginia Sen. John Warner.

The rapids at the former site of the Embrey Dam on the Rappahannock River in Fredricksburg would carry the senator’s name under legislation approved last week. The Senate passed its version of the bill Sept. 24.

Democratic Rep. Robert Wittman says he knows Warner, an outdoor sports enthusiast, is especially proud of efforts to dismantle the dam and open the river to canoeists and fish.
