Two attorneys have joined the Virginia Beach law firm of McKenry, Dancigers, Dawson & Lake PC.
B. Clay Chick focuses his practice on contract formation and interpretation; real estate; business organization; guardian and conservatorships; and commercial and business litigation. Chick was previously in-house counsel to the Pepperdine Corporation. He graduated from the Nova Southeastern University law school in Florida.
Stephen T. Perkins focuses his practice is in the area of insurance defense and commercial litigation. Perkins previously served as in-house counsel to a telecommunications company. He earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University in 1987 and his law degree from the University of Florida in 1990. He also studied international and EU law in the Netherlands.

Terry N. Grimes and Melvin E. Williams have formed the law firm of Grimes & Williams PC. The firm is located in Roanoke.

Four attorneys have joined the law firm of Williams Mullen.
Christopher P. Keir has joined the firm’s business and corporate practice as an associate in the Virginia Beach office. Keir focuses his practice on general corporate and finance matters. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from the University of Richmond.
Alyson E. Stokowski has joined the firm’s immigration practice as an associate in the Richmond office. Stokowski focuses her practice on general immigration matters. She also has experience with government contracts, employment and FOIA. She was previously an attorney with the Department of Homeland Security. Stokowski earned her undergraduate degree from George Mason University and her law degree from George Washington University.
Amy G. Marino has joined the firm’s intellectual property practice as an associate in the Virginia Beach office. Marino focuses her practice on copyright and trademark registration, clearance and licensing rights. Marino is a member of the Copyright Society of the U.S.A. and a member of the board of the Greater Richmond Intellectual Property Law Association. She received her law degree from Oberlin College and her law degree from Pepperdine University.
Gregory W. Kuehnle has joined the firm’s business and corporate practice as an associate in the Richmond office. Kuehnle focuses his practice on commercial lending, advising both borrowers and lenders in loan transactions. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland at College Park and his law degree from Notre Dame. Kuehnle is licensed to practice in North Carolina.

Benjamin R. Lacy IV, a shareholder and chair of the government relations and lobbying team at Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, received the inaugural Volunteer of the Year Award from the Greater Richmond Bar Foundation. Lacy leads the firm’s efforts with the Pro Bono Clearinghouse, which matches available and willing attorneys with the legal needs of citizens and organizations and provides services to them at no charge.

Jason C. Roper of McKenry, Dancigers, Dawson & Lake PC has become a member of the Board for Junior Achievement of Hampton Roads Inc.

Douglas E. Lamb, a member of the business practice group in the Richmond office of Hunton & Williams LLP, has been promoted to counsel status. Lamb represents issuers, borrowers, underwriters and lenders on a national basis in tax-exempt, taxable and tax credit bond transactions, with an emphasis on solid waste, renewable energy and economic development projects and the use of public-private partnerships. He received an undergraduate degree from Washington & Lee University and a law degree from the University of Richmond. Lamb joined the firm in 2005.

Amanda Gallagher and James Olmsted have joined Spotts Fain as associates in the creditors’ rights section of the firm’s Richmond office.
Gallagher earned her undergraduate degree in 2004 from James Madison University and her law degree in 2007 from the Appalachian School of Law. She previously served as a law clerk in the Hanover Circuit Court.
Olmstead received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 2003. He received his law degree from the University of Richmond in 2007. He was previously a law clerk in the Henrico County Circuit Court.

Nicole L. Wagner has joined the Roanoke office of Spilman Thomas & Battle PLLC. Wagner, a senior attorney, primarily practices in the areas of corporate and business law and labor and employment law. She was previously the chief legal officer for FNB Corporation and First National Bank. Wagner received her undergraduate degree from the College of William & Mary in 1992, her M.B.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1994, and her law degree from the University of Richmond in 1997.

Jennifer L. Rawls has joined the Newport News office Kaufman & Canoles as an associate. Her practice will focus on litigation. Rawls received her undergraduate degree from the College of William & Mary and her law degree from Washington & Lee University.

Brent M. Timberlake has joined Troutman Sanders LLP as an associate in its products liability practice group in Richmond. His practice will focus on defending corporations and individuals in civil suits alleging various types of injury, property damage, and breach of contact claims in both state and federal court.
Timberlake previously practiced with Setliff & Holland PC, and was an associate with Troutman Sanders from 2004 to 2006. He currently serves as an assistant adjunct professor of law at the University of Richmond. He also serves on the technology and membership committees of the Richmond Bar Association, as a member of the transportation section council of the Virginia Bar Association, and as chair of the board match committee of the Virginia State Bar.
Timberlake received his undergraduate degree in 2001 from Virginia Tech and his law degree in 2003 from the University of Richmond.

Hirschler Fleischer has formed a new litigation practice area — the catastrophic injury group. The group consists of trial attorneys Mahlon G. Funk Jr., W. Brian McCann and Jacqueline C. Hedblom. The attorneys will represent plaintiffs in cases involving complex, high-value medical malpractice, products liability, automobile injury, premises liability and other personal injury, including wrongful death actions.
Funk, a shareholder and principal of the group, has over 30 years’ trial experience and received the first seven-figure medical malpractice verdict in the Richmond area. McCann, who received his law degree from William and Mary in 2003, recently joined the firm. Hedblom joined the firm’s litigation section upon graduating from the University of Richmond law school in 2004, and focuses on personal injury and medical malpractice.

Joel R. Branscom, the commonwealth’s attorney for Botetourt County, was elected to serve a one-year term as president of the Virginia Association of Commonwealth’s Attorneys. Branscom earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the College of William & Mary. He has served as the Botetourt County commonwealth’s attorney since 1996.
