  1. WELL THANKS U CUZ I RECEIVED MY $25.50. CHECK

  2. Thank You! I didn’t know you could do anything about this. I received a letter months back and thought I had no chance. Then a few months ago guess who calls to offer me a job after all this came about. LOL. I am glad there are people out there who still care about the rights of others.

  3. w00t. i just got my 25.50. didnt even know i was part of it!

  4. I just received two checks for $50.04 from U S Bank Information Consulting Group regarding this case.
    Are these checks legitimate?
I called the Company, and they sound legit, but with all the scams I am a little hesitant to deposit.
    Thanks for any input

  5. Thank you!! I got the $25.50.

  6. got my check it’d been sooo long i’d forgotten this even happened. Got 25.50! whoopty do, but hey better than nothing

  7. Well thanks, I must have been at the right place at the right time. I really can use the money.
not to sound greedy, But we should have had some say so in the amount…

  8. I guess it’s the pricipal of the thing that counts. Though, I must say $79 isn’t going to keep my home, that job I didn’t get would have! Might have even saved my marrige… but all that doesn’t matter to big shot companies and lawyers. Glad they lost and maybe $79 will show up in time to get me till next payday in fuel to get to my MUCH lower paying job.

  9. I thank you as well, I also did not know that we could do anything about that. Not only did they run my background, but they told other employees what was on it. I also recieved a check for 25.50. Thanks again

  10. is this a scam? i applied at wal-mart last year in 2008. I got the job, but then something happened and I couldn’t work. I will not cash my check till I find out if this is not a scam..

  11. Just received my $50.04 check….I applied in 2008 and yeah never heard anything from them. I agree though a little hesitant to cash….

  12. Yes i applied to and that is pretty cool if its not a scam every penny adds up….thanks wally world…

  14. I applied in 2006 and never received a reply back. No big deal. I went with the next best thing. When I got the 1st letter in the mail I thought it was junk mail. Then I get my check in the mail today. Thanks for $25.50!!

  15. I received my check for 25.50 yesterday and i didn’t know anything about the lawsuits until then but hey i am glad to know that we have people watching our backs even when we aren’t

  16. Well, I know I was denied a job at Target as a Building Services Supervisor due to the fact that I had a traffic citation in New Mexico that had been paid that they were still showing unpaid. When I tried to find out why my employment was refused after having three interviews, they couldn’t give me any answers. I thought that was wrong due to the fact that they said they couldn’t give me any answers and pretty much messed me up from getting the job. I will never apply with Target ever again. I don’t even shop there any longer due to the fact. If they are going to do a person like that who is trying to work there, imagine how they treat their customers without their knowledge. Think about it.

  17. Im not so sure the checks are legit either, There’s no bank name on mine. However , I think I’ll cash mine at Walmart! LOL

  18. In being one of the original persons filing this complaint, I can tell you that all the checks are real. What’s not real is the amount to which we received. I was arguing for us to get one(1) year pay.

  19. just got a check for 25.50 didnt even know about the lawsuite thank you god for your little blessing and thanks walmart

  20. It’s a nice surprise to get a check in the mail, but if you really think about it, it probably didn’t hurt Wal-mart in the long run…where do you think majority of ppl would end up spending $50 anyways……Wal-Mart. So I think they are going to have the last laugh.

  21. I see some people saying they got $54.04, and some saying just $25.50. Does anybody know why there is a difference, or are the $25 people due a second
    check yet to come?

I wish I had gotten a letter about this some time back, because my letter from ChoicePoint 3 1/2 odd years ago to me and Walmart stated that I had plead guilty to a felony, I had not, I ended up pleading no contest to a misdemeanor about a year before, though not much better than pleading guilty. I called ChoicePoint and said, “Where the hell did you get this info?” They said, “So and so, another info broker, but we’ll look into it, and reinvestigate.” A week and a half later another letter from ChoicePointe, that one concerning my public record background was wrong also, pleading the no-contest, but still listing felony.

No point in calling and complaining or asking again, the job oportunity is shot to hell by the first letter…

Anybody else fall in the same hole by ChoicePoint, or just the second guy in the suit denied the job at Target from the background check of another guy with the same name?

  22. well I can tell you that I worked at Wal-Mart Optical and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I was accused of shoplifting during one of my so-called breaks after I had already paid for my merchandise and had the police called to me, the whole works. Needless to say, I left that day and did not return to work there but after having the managers apologize and the loss prevention idiot fired that almost had me arrested. Getting to this class action, I was stupid and applied again to the store a few years later only to have them do this to me.. I knew nothing about this class action suit until yesterday when I received the check $25.50 in the mail. I, too was hesitant about cashing and still am until I speak with my attorney… I should have sued them when i was humiliated the first time but I just wanted to crawl in a hole after that embarrassment….

  23. i just got this check in the mail today for $35.50 and i had also applied for a job with walmart a couple years back.I had told them up front that i had an adult felony record and the management team had still asked me to come in and start training to be in the management team . about a week later i got the letter stating that they had checked my background and found a felony on it.the date of the felony was wrong and i had called and made a bit of noise but they told me at the time that it was nothing they could do about it because they got the info from a consulting agency 7 states from where i had the felony to begin with.of course when i called the court that had given it to me they had the correct dates.so i had to find another job much lower paying.

  24. check was only $25.50 v.v

  25. Timothy Woodbury

Thank you, Its only 25.50, but its a lot better than nothing.

  26. my hubby received a check for 25.50 and yes he did cash it at walmart lmao. however as i understood it shouldnt he also receive a 50$ check for the walmart portion of the settlement?

  27. I applied at wal-mart about 2 years ago, did the whole 3 interview thing. About to get my my hours and days, and was told not to come to the training class. Then about a month latter i get some letter from them talking about I have a bad background and was not someone they wanted on there team. Like i was a bug or something. Why did they do this to us? And if there are two lawsutes, shouldn’t we get two checks? I think that year of pay would be nice right about now. But another check should be coming, RIGHT? Mine was for $25.50..Were is the other check? God has been good to me thus far.

  28. LOL.. I GOT A $25.50 CHECK…..SO WHAT IF WALMART DIDNT GIVE ME A JOB.. THE MANAGER TOLD ME THEY HAD TO DO A BACK GROUND CHECK BEFORE I WAS HIRED I SAID DO IT AND I TOLD THEM I HAD SUM SHIT ON IT AND IT WAS NOT TO GOOD ( FIGHTTING 5 POPO’S) ANY WAY I WAS NOT MAD I JUST WENT BACK TO WORK WITH MY DAD I THINK WAL-MART IS GREAT 6 YEARS BACK I WENT TO GET A MONEY ORDER FOR 300 FOR MY RENT WELL I GOT IT THEN I WENT TO FAIR SOON WENT HOME AND RELIZED THE MONEY ORDER WAS GONE…SO THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO WALMART AND SAID I LOST A MONEY ORDER I HAVE NO PROFF OF IT EXCEPT THE GIRL I TALKED TO WAS THE ONE WHO GAVE ME THE MONEY ORDER THE DAY BEFORE SO SHE GET THE BOSS AND I TOLD HIM WHAT WAS UP WELL THIS DUDE WENT IN THE BACK AND CAME OUT WITH 300 IN CASH AND TOLD ME TO PAY MY RENT THANK GOD FOR THAT MANAGER AT WALLY WORLD (WALLMART)…I DONT FEEL RIGHT CASHING THIS CHECK CUS NO WRONG WAS DONE TO ME SO THIS 25.50 WILL BE TORN UP AND THROWN AWAY….THANK U WAL* MART……….APRIL R.

  29. walmart wouldnt hire me because of a default student loan. Their loss is my gain. I got their little check.

  30. sounds like a scam…….choice point would have paid 110,000 thousands more & the lawyers would get 1,333$ walmart can make 4mill in an hr……..gotta love america.
