Hematoma causes death after partial thyroidectomy – Defense Verdict

In this wrongful death lawsuit, the parents of a 29-year-old woman alleged the defendant anesthesiologist committed malpractice and caused their daughter’s death. Their daughter developed a neck hematoma shortly after an elective partial thyroidectomy.
The hematoma went undiagnosed for several hours, leading to massive internal and external neck swelling. The swelling eventually caused difficulty breathing ...
