I was watching a “local” news program this morning (the one with all those “local” stories from Somalia, California, Texas, Florida, Illinois etc.). When this station wants to report something from around Richmond, they’ve been known to pick up the morning’s Times-Dispatch and read the story. On air.
Today the show had a piece on the new “no-fail” policy adopted by the Dallas (Texas) school system. Teachers there are no longer allowed to fail students, apparently.
This item was followed immediately by a segment on the death of ex-Detroit Tiger Mark Fidrych. The screen with the story read, “Former major league picture dies.”
Coincidence that this item followed the other? You connect the dots.
