Judge’s mother among alleged victims of nurse’s aide

The mother of Lynchburg U.S. District Judge Norman Moon was one of the alleged victims of a nurse’s aide accused of using identity theft to steal from residents of nursing homes where she worked, according to a published report.

The News & Advance says Judge James Turk – in place of Moon – will handle the case of Karen Priscilla Jones, who was arraigned yesterday on 34 charges, including mail and wire fraud.

Jones, 48, is charged with using personal information from residents at nursing homes where she worked to obtain more than $9,000 worth of goods and services, according to the indictment.
