Cho records taken inadvertently, lawyer says

The lawyer for the former head of the counseling center where Virginia Tech gunman Seung-Hui Cho was referred for treatment says Cho’s records were accidentally removed from the unit.  The records surfaced this week, as announced by Gov. Kaine yesterday, but this is the first explanation of why the records had been unavailable until now.

Richmond attorney Ed McNelis told the Associated Press that former clinic chief Robert Miller inadvertently placed the records in a box with his personal papers when he left the clinic in 2006, a year before the shootings in April 2007.  He said Miller this week discovered he had the records and promptly reported the find.
