Number of attorneys in General Assembly continues to drop

The number of lawyers serving in the General Assembly and writing Virginia’s laws appears to be declining, and some lament that the process is more difficult when fewer legislators have legal training.     We should note that Scott Surovell was inadvertently left out of the list of lawyer candidates running for the House. He’s a Democrat in the 44th district race for the seat of retiring Del. Kris Amundson, D-Mount Vernon.
