If you’ve heard him speak at conferences around Virginia, you know the quick mind and salty wit of now-retired Campbell County Circuit Judge Sam Johnston. You may have chuckled at stories like the melon ball account, recalled here by Paul Fletcher.
If you want more, or if you’ve missed the experience so far, relief is near at hand, says Johnston. He’s just put the finishing touches on a book gathering around a hundred of his favorite stories from 31 years of work in the law.
“It’s 80 percent factual, 10 percent hyperbole, and 10 percent b.s.,” Johnston said today, adding, “It’s some funny-ass stories.”
The book is being published by Warwick House, a Lynchburg vanity press.
