Bills to change judicial administration killed

Legislative efforts to rein in the two top policy-making bodies of the judicial system appear to be dead for the year.
House Bill 240, which would have in effect eliminated the Judicial Council and the Committee on District Courts, cleared the House Courts of Justice Committee but died on the House floor last month.
