Douglas M. Palais has joined the Richmond office of Eckert Seamans Cherin and Mellott as a member of the firm’s litigation practice. He was previously a shareholder of LeClairRyan.
Palais focuses his practice on litigation, arbitration and counseling on behalf of brokers and agents in the securities and insurance industries. Palais also handles the defense of other professional liability matters, particularly directors and officers liability claims, attorney malpractice claims and complex insurance coverage matters. Palais is an adjunct professor of insurance law for the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business. He also serves as the chair of the Civil Justice Committee of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
Palais earned his law degree from the Northwestern University and his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College.
