Lawyer hit with 3-year suspension

Alleged mishandling of a personal injury claim has brought a three-year suspension for Richmond-area lawyer Sara Davis Harman, reports the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

The paper reports Harman also is being sued for malpractice over her handling of the injury claim.

According to the paper, the suspension followed an agreement earlier this month by Harman to surrender her license as a disciplinary panel was preparing to hear a complaint from the former client.

A VSB summary of facts in her case reportedly shows Harman repeatedly lied to the injured client about the status and apparently non-existant settlement terms of the woman’s suit even after the case had been non-suited, refiled and then dismissed without the client’s knowledge. The matter extended over several years beginning in December 2003, when the client was injured, the paper reports.

  1. I really liked the aggression i saw from her as a former client myself, this really saddens me. Of course as the saying goes “Bad things to happen to good people”. I hope all is well with you Ms. Harman, i wish you and your new baby well. Everything will get better in time for ya’ll. Good luck and i hope you get everything you want with you and yours!!
