A federal grand jury has indicted Winchester lawyer and former prosecutor Paul H. Thomson on seven charges, including evidence tampering and cocaine possession.
Thomson is accused of attempting to influence the testimony of an accused drug dealer.
Meanwhile, Winchester Circuit Judge John Wetsel Jr. has written to a federal judge advising he has postponed Thomson’s cases in the circuit for at least one month, according to the Northern Virginia Daily. The paper said Frederick County Circuit Judge John Prosser has imposed a similar restriction.
Wetsel reported he has advised the Virginia State Bar about Thomson’s charges, the paper said. VSB Counsel Ned Davis said Thursday he had no information about Thomson he could release publicly at the time.
