Sands Anderson PC has elected L. Lee Byrd as president of the firm, according to M. Pierce Rucker, immediate past president.
Byrd is the former chair of the business and professional litigation practice at Sands Anderson and a member of the firm’s board of directors. He is also active in the government group at the firm.
“Lee’s dedication to the board over his term and his careful stewardship of our offices and staff as chief operating officer convinced his fellow board members that he has the skills and tenacity to be a superb leader of our growing law firm,” said Rucker in a release.
Byrd has been a shareholder of the firm since 1998 and a member of the board since 2007. He handles a wide variety of business litigation relating to contracts, commercial leases, easements, insurance coverage, and legal malpractice, among other things.
He earned his law degree from the College of William and Mary and his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.
