VALS … the association for legal professionals, is celebrating its Golden Anniversary at its annual convention in Fredericksburg from April 26 through 29.
To mark its 50th anniversary, the association has adopted the theme of using the footprints of the past to build a foundation for the future. The annual meeting features continuing legal education, an awards luncheon and evening banquet and additional opportunities to socialize with fellow members and to enjoy the local area.
Fredericksburg Mayor Thomas J. Tomzak, MD, will address the group on Saturday, and Spotsylvania lawyer Georgia K. Sutton is the keynote speaker for the convention.
Two lawyers will present programs during the convention. Alexandria City Attorney James L. Banks will speak on the government’s viewpoint on employment law, and Spotsylvania lawyer Mark S. Gardner will talk about criminal law, with a view from the defense table.
Registration forms for the convention are available at the VALS website, and the registration deadline is March 26.
