Roanoke attorney Tom Farrell, 49, was running at 5:45 a.m. when he was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver. The defendant, Jeffrey Young, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and hit-and-run. He was acquitted of all charges by a Roanoke County jury.
