Snow forces court closings, delays

Due to inclement weather, the administrative offices of the Supreme Court of Virginia are closed on Thursday, according to a message on the court’s website. Numerous other state courts are closed, with a list posted on the Supreme Court’s site.

The Fairfax County Circuit, General District, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts, and the Fairfax Bar Association office will be closed Thursday, according to a message posted by the FBA.

The offices of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond are closed, according to that court’s website. (Earlier, the court announced it would open at 10:30 a.m.)

The U.S. Courthouses in Alexandria and Richmond are closed Thursday, according to the website of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

In the Western District, all divisions are closed, according to the court’s website.

The offices of the Virginia State Bar are closed Thursday, according to a message on the VSB site.

This post was updated at 8:23 a.m. on Feb. 13 to show the 4th Circuit as closed. It was updated at 8:27 a.m. to note the list of closings posted on the SCV website. An update at 8:29 noted the closing of the Richmond federal courthouse.
