The Virginia Bar Association has nailed down commitments from the two U.S. Senate candidates for a July debate at the group’s summer meeting.
The campaigns of both Republican Ed Gillespie and incumbent Democrat Mark Warner have agreed to the debate format, the VBA said Tuesday.
The July 26 event at The Greenbrier will consist of opening and closing statements, candidate-to-candidate questions and moderator questions. “PBS NewsHour” co-anchor and managing editor Judy Woodruff will moderate.
The PBS show plans to partner with the VBA to livestream the debate, which starts at 11 a.m.
