A Fairfax lawyer sentenced to six years in prison for stealing nearly $500,000 from an elderly woman and her estate has agreed to give up his law license.
James G. Kincheloe Jr. consented to revocation this month, according to the Virginia State Bar. The VSB Disciplinary Board accepted his consent in an Aug. 21 order.
Kincheloe acknowledged in an affidavit the material allegations against him were true.
Kincheloe pleaded guilty to embezzlement in Fairfax Circuit Court in June.
At sentencing this month, Judge Jane M. Roush ordered Kincheloe to repay more than $483,000 to the estate of Pearl Buckley, who died in 2009 at the age of 90. A civil suit claimed Kincheloe took almost $900,000 from the woman’s estate.
