Two associates in the Northern Virginia office of Holland & Knight have been elevated to partnership.
Brandon Elledge, a member of the firm’s litigation section, concentrates his practice on employment-related and other commercial litigation matters. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina and his law degree from the University of Richmond.
Marisa Terrenzi, a member of the firm’s business section, practices principally in the areas of business and corporate law, with an emphasis on venture capital transactions and other private placements, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters. She received her undergraduate degree from Boston College, her M.P.H. from Johns Hopkins University and her law degree from the University of Maryland.

Philip M. Keating, a shareholder of Bean, Kinney & Korman, has been selected as chair-elect of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. Keating focuses his practice on immigration and employment law. He received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers College and his law degree from George Washington University. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, served as vice chair for economic development and government affairs for the Arlington Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the management relations committee of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
Keating will serve as chair of the Chamber for 2010. Bean Kinney also received the Arlington Chamber’s annual “Chair’s Award” for outstanding contributions of resources to the Chamber and the Arlington business community.

Betty S. Graumlich, an attorney in the Richmond office of Reed Smith, has been promoted to partner. Graumlich focuses her practice on employment-related litigation matters from representing management in employment discrimination cases to prosecuting and defending restrictive covenants and employment tort cases. She received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Virginia.

Eric Perkins, a partner in the business section at Hirschler Fleischer, has been selected to chair the USTA Tennis Rules and Regulations Committee for the 2009-2010 term. Perkins, who specializes in real estate securities, franchising, tax-exempt organizations and sports and entertainment law, is active in the tennis world. He serves as an officer and director of the Richmond Tennis Association and as general counsel for the USTA/Mid-Atlantic Section.

Julia C. Dudley was sworn in as the Interim United States Attorney by U.S. District Judge James P. Jones, chief judge of the Western District of Virginia.

Kevin A. White has joined the Richmond office of Kaufman & Canoles as an associate. His practice will focus on public and tax-exempt finance. White received his undergraduate degree from Randolph-Macon College and his law degree from Washington and Lee University.

Jonathan S. Rochkind has become a principal in the Manassas law firm of Smith Hudson & Carluzzo. Rochkind practices in the areas of insurance defense, personal injury, workers compensation, business and commercial litigation, employment law and domestic relations. He received his law degree from George Washington University and his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. Rochkind was previously senior legal counsel for Allstate Insurance Company.

Richard D. Kelly has been appointed as the new managing partner of Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt. In this role, Kelly is responsible for the firm’s strategic operations, practice development, recruitment and hiring. He is also a partner in the firm’s litigation practice group and has been a long-time member of the firm’s board of directors. In addition to litigation, he actively counsels clients in all aspects of intellectual property matters.
Kelly received his law degree from the Catholic University of America and his undergraduate degree from Northeastern University. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the American Bar Association’s patent, trademark, and copyright and litigation sections and the International Trade ommission Trial Lawyers Association.

Joseph I. Goldstein and Adriaen M. Morse Jr., both formerly with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, have joined LeClairRyan as a shareholder and partner, respectively. They will practice in the firm’s securities enforcement defense and financial litigation services section.
Goldstein previously served as associate director of the SEC’s division of enforcement, chairman of the penny stock task force and a member of the Justice Department’s national bank fraud and securities and commodities fraud working groups. He was also previously a partner with Mayer Brown.He earned his law degree from the University of Michigan and his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University. He also served as a naval flight officer in the U.S. Navy.
He will be based in the firm’s New York and Washington offices.
Morse was previously a partner at Mayer Brown, and senior counsel with the SEC’s division of enforcement. He earned an LLM in Securities and Financial Regulation from Georgetown University, a law degree from the University of Richmond and an undergraduate degree from the U.S. Naval Academy. He will be based in the firm’s Washington office.
