In this Monday’s edition of Virginia Lawyers Weekly, our Alan Cooper reported that Gov. Tim Kaine was preparing to name several judges to the circuit bench in Norfolk.
Today’s the day: The governor, according to a release from his office, has appointed three men – a General District Judge, a J&DR judge and a commonwealth’s attorney – to the openings. They are:
* Judge Louis A. Sherman, who has been a Norfolk General District judge since 1995. He was executive director of the Tidewater Legal Aid Society for five years.
* Judge Jerrauld C. Jones, a Norfolk J&DR judge since 2005. He served the area in the House of Delegates from 1988 to 2002.
* John R. “Jack” Doyle III, Norfolk’s commonwealth’s attorney since 2000.
