A pair of amateur genealogists have concluded that those human remains found last month in Mountain Lake are those of Samuel Ira Felder, a telephone company engineer from Troy, New York, who apparently drowned in a boating accident at Mountain Lake in 1921. The Roanoke Times reports that the conclusion comes from brothers Jim and John Dalmas who located a newspaper article about Felder’s death.
