The husband of a Hampton lawyer often mentioned as a judicial candidate has been arrested on drug possession charges, according to the Daily Press .
William Carson Thomas, 51, husband of Kathy Gear Owens, is accused of possessing cocaine, marijuana and prescription medication. The cocaine charge is a felony.
Owens is the brother of Del. Tom Gear, R-Hampton, who has persistently advocated for his sister’s appointment to the bench.
The drug charges reportedly resulted from a search today at the Hampton home of Thomas and Owens.
