Where is Jesse Shelor?

March 29th, 2011 · 1 Comment · Discipline

Wherever the former Vinton lawyer is, he no longer has a Virginia law license.

The Virginia State Bar revoked the license of Jesse S. Shelor last month for abandoning his law practice “with utter disregard for the welfare of his clients.” Shelor was a no-show at his disciplinary hearing and failed to respond to the VSB’s written demands for information. A VSB investigator who knocked on doors said “it was as though Respondent had just disappeared,” according to a VSB disciplinary order.

At least two clients complained they paid retainers to Shelor and got little or no legal help before he vanished.

Court records show collections actions filed against Shelor, as well as a foreclosure, according to The Roanoke Times.
