The Virginia Supreme Court panel studying proposed new judicial circuits and districts has announced details of the six public comment sessions it will hold in July. The first meeting, in Abingdon, is set for Thursday, July 7.

A 22-member court-appointed committee is collecting information for a recommendation on new maps and judicial assignments for Virginia. In addition to public comments, the panel will review workload reports from all of the state’s judges. The General Assembly has final say on any revision of the courts’ circuits and districts.
