Judge Alden announces retirement plan

Fairfax County Circuit Judge Leslie Alden says she will retire from the bench next year.

Alden confirmed in an email she will step down when her term expires on July 31. She has served on the court since 1996.

Alden is a member of the 2010 class of VLW’s Influential Women of Virginia. She has served on the Judicial Council of Virginia and has served as president of the International Association of Women Judges.

    Too bad. She has been an excellent Judge and will be missed.

    Judge Alden is great judge. We had a jury trial with her presiding not too long ago and other than ruling on a few objections, you might not have even known she was in the room. That is the sign of a great judge: there to referee over disputes, but not to interfere! IMHO
    She will certainly be missed on the bench.
