Supreme Court sets test for waiver of attorney-client privilege

CEO can’t muzzle in-house lawyer

An in-house lawyer’s warning that he represented the company, not its employees or CEO, meant the CEO could not use the attorney-client privilege to keep the lawyer from testifying before a federal grand jury.

House passes attorney-client privilege measure

The House of Representatives has passed the Attorney-Client Protection Act of 2007, sponsored by Rep. Bobby Scott, D-Va., to protect conversations between attorneys and clients under investigation, reports The Daily Press.
