Juror records Las Vegas courthouse shootout

A man called to jury duty captured the sound of wild gunfire this morning at the federal court building in Las Vegas.  The shootout left two dead, including a court security officer.

Naming the new Richmond courthouse, round two

The idea of naming the new federal courthouse in downtown Richmond after Judges Spottswood W. Robinson III and Robert R. Merhige Jr. has been circulating for about two years, with a push from local bar groups.

Fredericksburg Circuit Judge John W. Scott Jr. has ordered the city council to fix unsafe conditions at the city’s courthouse, reports The Free Lance-Star.
He also ordered all staff to move out of the building while repairs were made.
