Councilman guilty of assault

A Winchester city councilman was found guilty yesterday of assault and battery.
According to The Northern Virginia Daily, the charge stemmed from an incident at Inn at Little Washington in December of 2007. During an altercation, Jeffrey B. “Jeff” Buettner allegedly struck a man on the head, rupturing his eardrum. The councilman argued he was acting in self-defense.
