Stuart hospital workers sue for lost wages

A group of 85 employees of the hospital in Patrick County have sued the former hospital operator over unpaid wages.

According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, the workers at R.J. Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital are owed two to four weeks’ worth of wages, as well as benefits such as health insurance claims. The workers lost their jobs Oct. 29, although some have been re-hired by the new hospital operator.

Plaintiffs’ attorney John Fishwick says the lawsuit, filed in Patrick County Circuit Court, seeks up to $250,000.
