WILLIAMSBURG—The Virginia Law Foundation inducted 15 new Fellows last night at its annual dinner. The inductees were:

University of Richmond President Edward Ayers was the featured speaker, giving a talk on President Abraham Lincoln, the perils he faced and the parallels to new President Barack Obama. After the speech, emcee Howard McElroy of Abingdon revealed that Ayers had been called to speak on his birthday, which prompted a spontaneous song from the crowd. You know which one.
