Towey to run against Janis

Former State Crime Commission director James Towey will seek the Democratic nomination to run against Del. William R. Janis, R-Henrico.

Towey is running on a platform of increasing transparency and putting constituents before party politics, reports the Richmond Times Dispatch.

Janis, one of the more outspoken conservatives in the House, noted that in the recent legislative session, he worked to balance the budget, attract jobs to Virginia and retain the ones here now.

The 56th House of Delegates district, which includes parts of Henrico County and all of Louisa and Goochland counties, is traditionally a Republican district.

  1. Towey is the best the Dems can do? He’s lucky he still has a law license. Janis will eat his lunch.
