Brownlee goes to Holland and Knight

Former U.S. Attorney John Brownlee has joined the Northern Virginia and Washington offices of Holland & Knight as a partner in the firm’s enforcement defense and government contracts practices.

Brownlee was the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Virginia from 2001 through May 2008 and was an unsuccessful candidate for the Republican nomination for attorney general this year.

A graduate of Washington and Lee University and the College of William and Mary law school, Brownlee was a JAG officer for 10 years and an assistant U.S. attorney in Washington for four years before moving to Roanoke in 2001.
