Arrest warrant issued for Lisa Miller

A Vermont judge has issued an arrest warrant for the missing mother in a two-state, same-sex custody battle.

Family Court Judge William Cohen ordered the arrest of Lisa Miller, who has refused to turn over her 7-year-old daughter Isabella pursuant to the judge’s custody order favoring Miller’s former partner, Janet Jenkins, reports the Rutland Herald .

Miller’s last known address was in Bedford County, Va., but Bedford J&DR Judge Louis Harrison last week refused to issue an arrest warrant, citing lack of evidence that Miller had formal notice of the proceedings against her.

Meanwhile, the Virginia Court of Appeals today rejected Lisa Miller’s challenge to recognition by a Virginia court of the custody order from Vermont.
