Seabolt is Troutman’s first COO

SeaboltRobert D. Seabolt, a partner in the Richmond office of Troutman Sanders LLP, has been named to the newly created position of chief operating officer.

Seabolt, 55, is a litigator who concentrates his practice on antitrust enforcement and white collar defense. He was managing partner of Mays & Valentine LLP from 1993 until its merger with Atlanta-based Troutman Sanders in 2001.

As COO, Seabolt will lead and supervise most of the firm’s administrative functions. He will report to the firm’s managing partner, Stepehen E. Lewis. “Bob was the first and only choice to be Troutman Sanders’ first COO,” said Lewis.

Seabolt also will take over the duties of William R. Ramsey, when Ramsey retires as executive director of the firm in mid-2011.

In his new role, Seabolt will split time between Richmond and Atlanta.
