Charlottesville-area lawyers get competitive

Members of the Charlottesville Albemarle Bar Association are showing their sporty side.

A call for sign ups for tournaments including golf, tennis, bowling and chess has produced numerous responses in all categories, reports CABA president Steven Rosenfield.

Rosenfield said the local bar has grown in recent years — it’s now about 400 members. He hopes the fun and games will help members get to know each other.

“It’s been really warmly received by members of our bar,” he said.

Eventually, he said, the bar might even take on teams from other local bar associations.

It’s not all competition. Rosenfield said members can sign up to play music with their colleagues. Choices include classical, rock, folk, jazz/swing, big band and bluegrass.
