Richmond lawyer Jamie Barber has been recognized as the Pro Bono Clearinghouse Volunteer of 2011 by the Greater Richmond Bar Foundation.
Barber, a corporate finance associate at Hunton & Williams, has handled 11 different matters for the bar foundation since 2006. Barber provided more than 28 hours in pro bono work during the past year, working for such nonprofits as St. John’s Child Development Center, A.C.O.R.N., Goochland Free Clinic and One by One Initiative. Barber was honored at the foundation’s annual reception on Oct. 27, held at Dominion Resources Tredegar facility and co-sponsored by Dominion and McGuireWoods LLP.
Barber, like other business lawyers who volunteer their services to nonprofit groups through the Clearinghouse program, uses his legal skills to review bylaws and articles of incorporation, advise on organizational structure and liability and assist with the development of a client application for Clearinghouse clients.
