On Sept. 23, 2011, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board imposed a public reprimand on James P. Campbell of Leesburg for violating professional rules that govern the unauthorized practice of law.

On Sept. 29, 2011, the VSB Disciplinary Board summarily suspended the license to practice law of Harry Tun of Washington based on the suspension of his District of Columbia license by the D.C. Court of Appeals. The board ordered Tun to appear and show cause why the same discipline should not be imposed in Virginia. On Oct. 28, 2011, the board suspended Tun’s Virginia license for 18 months with six months stayed followed by one year of probation. This was the same sanction imposed in D.C., according to the VSB.

On Sept. 30, 2011, the VSB Disciplinary Board summarily suspended the law license of Gerald I. Katz of Vienna. Katz pled guilty to a crime in Maryland on Aug. 20, 2010. The board ordered him to appear and show cause why his license should not be further suspended or revoked in Virginia. On Oct. 28, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board suspended Katz’s license for six months. The Virginia suspension became effective Sept. 30, the date that Katz’s Virginia license was summarily suspended pending a show cause hearing on the reciprocal discipline.

On Oct. 28, 2011, the VSB Disciplinary Board revoked the license to practice law of Lindsey O. Sutherland of Fairfax for violating professional rules that govern competence, diligence, communication, bar admission and disciplinary matters, and misconduct.

On Oct. 28, 2011, the VSB Fifth District-Section I District Committee imposed a public reprimand with terms on Cynthia Gayle Smith of Fairfax for violating professional rules that govern safekeeping property.

On Nov. 18, 2011, the VSB Disciplinary Board suspended the license to practice law of Christopher J. Agresto of Leesburg for five years for violating professional rules that govern competence, diligence, communication, declining or terminating representation and bar admission and disciplinary matters. In another matter, the board also suspended Agresto’s license pending a show cause hearing based on his Nov. 4, 2011, guilty plea for conspiracy to commit wire fraud. The board ordered him to appear on Dec. 9, 2011, to show cause why his license should not be further suspended or revoked.

On Nov. 18, 2011, the VSB Disciplinary Board revoked the license to practice law of Michael J. Biddinger of Spotsylvania for violating professional rules that govern declining or terminating representation and bar admission and disciplinary matters. His license had been suspended since Sept. 27, 2010, according to the VSB.

On Nov. 21, 2011, the VSB Disciplinary Board revoked the license to practice law of Mary Meade of Fairfax for violating professional rules that govern fees, safekeeping property, candor toward the tribunal, professional independence of a lawyer, bar admission and disciplinary matters, and misconduct.
