Gastronomic developments in the law

When not clashing over the facts and the law, lawyers like to talk about food – especially, their favorite lunch counters and barbecue joints on the way to and from the courthouse.

Our past coverage of lawyers’ top eateries included the venerable Texas Inn, perched precariously over the James River valley at the edge of downtown Lynchburg. Now comes word the “T Room,” as it’s known, will launch a second location at a new development near Brookville High School. The News & Advance has details.

Meanwhile, an upcoming visit by the Supreme Court of Virginia to the William & Mary law school will provide an opportunity to revisit an old favorite for Steve Emmert of Virginia Beach. Emmert claims the sub sandwiches at Williamsburg’s College Delly are the finest in the commonwealth.

(Our experience suggests otherwise. We would put the subs at the Crossroad Store near North Garden on U.S. 29 in Albemarle County up against any. It’s a welcome stop on the road between Charlottesville and Lynchburg.)

  1. Hands down it’s the Cheese Shop sandwiches in Williamsburg that are the best … with extra sauce!
