VSB to host solo, small firm conference in Abingdon

The Virginia State Bar will be hosting a “Solo & Small-Firm Practitioner Forum and Regional Bench Bar Conference” in Abingdon at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center April 26.

The day-long program is free to members of the Virginia bar and includes lunch. It offer six hours of CLE credit, including three hours in ethics and 1.5 hours for GALs.

Topics to be covered include e-discovery, risk management, trust accounts, authentication of documents and recent developments in criminal law.

There also will be a town hall meeting featuring three appellate judges from Southwest Virginia – Chief Justice

Cynthia Kinser, Justice Elizabeth McClanahan and Judge Teresa Chafin.

Although it is free, pre-registration is required. The form is available at the VSB’s website, www.vsb.org.

The program is sponsored by the VSB’s Conference of Local Bar Associations, in cooperation with the Supreme Court of Virginia, the VSB’s Special Committee on Bench-Bar Relations and the Bristol, Buchanan, Dickenson, Lee, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington and Wise County & City of Norton bar associations.
