The Loudoun County Attorney’s Office in Leesburg, Virginia is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Deputy County Attorney. Significant civil and administrative litigation, local government law, or general counsel experience is preferred. The successful candidate will act as counsel to County officials, departments and agencies on a broad range of complex or sensitive legal issues. This Deputy oversees the section providing legal services on the following matters: real estate, tax, procurement, finance and general civil litigation. In that role, the Deputy assigns and supervises the work of section attorneys and also personally handles legal work related to transactions and claims, among other matters. This position will represent the County and the Board of Supervisors in litigation, as well as supervise litigation being handled by section attorneys or outside counsel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and ten years of relevant experience. Must be a member of the Virginia State Bar in good standing. The position may be filled as an Assistant County Attorney, depending on qualifications.
