NORFOLK (AP) U.S. Magistrate Judge Tommy Miller plans to retire next year after serving for more than two decades.
The Virginian-Pilot reports that Miller has announced he will retire in August 2015.
Miller has served as a federal magistrate judge since 1987. He previously served as an assistant U.S. attorney.
The federal court system is accepting applications for the position, which serves the Eastern District of Virginia at Norfolk and Newport News. An application form is posted on the court system’s website, www.vaed.uscourts.gov .
